
From television to radio and print journalism - Claire Byrne is a true professional all-rounder. After seven years presenting news and breakfast television in both Ireland and the UK, Claire is back to her first love, radio and is presenting the fast paced Breakfast Show on Irish national commercial station Newstalk 106 - 108fm. Claire is also currently writing a column in national broadsheet paper The Sunday Tribune.
Her television career began with TV3, Ireland's successful national station producing, editing and presentin bulletins on Ireland's only breakfast show Ireland AM. From there, Claire went to London and anchored news bulletins for Channel Five and the ITN News Channel,
During her time in London, Claire visiting the world of the game show, helping to host and write for Touch the Truck on Channel Five with Dale Winton!
In 2002, she made her return to Ireland taking over at the helm as the female anchor of the TV3 breakfast show, Ireland AM, presenting the three hour show, five days a week.
During this time, Claire was awarded TV Personality of the Year 2005 by the Irish Television and Film Awards (IFTAS).
After two and a half years of early mornings, Claire was made the face of TV3 when she became anchor of the stations nightly news bulletins. In 2006, she won Favourite Irish Newscaster in the TV Now television awards.
Late 2006 saw a great change in direction for Claire when she was invited to host the Breakfast Show on Ireland's only commercial talk radio station, Newstalk 106 - 108fm. On air from 6.30am to 9am, each weekday morning, Claire brings breaking news and exclusive stories to the national in an interactive and refreshing format - a new style of broadcasting for a new generation or Irish radio listeners.
Claire also writes a weekly column for the Sunday Tribune, a respected national broadsheet newspaper. She is also working on television projects with her own production company.
