    Katie Larmour KATIE LARMOUR

In 2006 Katie won the title of Formula Una, Great Britain, at Silverstone representing Red Bull Racing Team where she got to race a mini moto bike with World Champion Kimi Raikonen and the girls even crushed a car with an ex-army tank. This saw her travel to Sao Paulo for the end of season race joining the other 'unas' from around the world. Following this she did voice-over news snippets for the team’s website and was then asked to co-host Ireland's Red Bull Soapbox Race 2008 alongside BBC Radio 1 DJ Colin Murray with crowds of 30,000 interviewing survivors at the end of the track. This lead to her presenting Live At The Limelight, a music series for UTV showcasing Irish talent, where Katie introduced the bands and interviewed them in the backstage green room.

Most recently she presented the Most Stylish Male Sports Star 2009 Award at the Ulster Tatler Style Awards, as well as working on a new adventure series pilot with a top production company!

Katie, who comes from Belfast in Northern Ireland, has gained experience with Northern Visions Community Television which broadcasts in the greater Belfast area, covering events such as The Lord Mayor’s Show, The Rose of Tralee, The Balmoral Agricultural Show, The University of Ulster Art College Degree Show, What Does It Take To Be A Zoopkeeper, fashion features on local designers, backstage at Miss Northern Ireland, The Tall Ships and more. Through NvTv she also completed a media/journalism course covering all aspects of production from camera and sound to final cut pro as well as being in front of the camera. With experience in both live and pre-record.

Katie has been determined to push herself to the limits having enjoyed many physically challenging adventure training activities. These include; white water rafting on the Nile, survival weekends skills, abseiling, rock climbing, helicopter rides, kayaking and mountain leadership qualifications, skiing, clay pigeon shooting, driving a 4 ton truck on old airfields, skydiving in Hawaii in superhero costumes and white water rafting at the source of the River Nile on 5 star rapids! Katie was part of a team who went to Jinga in Uganda in 2006 to dig a well. They also went on trekking expeditions and chewed on sugarcane as sweets along the way and it was here she even learnt to be a bricklayer! Setting up camp on the banks of Lake Victoria, with the toilet a hole in the ground and the shower a bucket and pulley system, the girls washed their hair daily in the lake itself.

As you can see, Katie is very well travelled, (having taken a gap year after graduating with a Fine Art Degree from the University of Ulster), and has seen all the continents as a back packing student and also in city breaks, as well as visiting places of culture, sightseeing the hot spots, museums and art galleries, her inquisitive mind has taken her off the beaten track. She loves to explore! Highlights have been the Turkish baths in the historic Gelhert Hotel in Budapest, wandering around Pompeii, sailing into the port of Malta, shopping in the Souks of Morocco and Tunisia, the Red Light district in Amsterdam, winning money in the Crown Casino Melbourne, wine tasting in vineyards in the Loire Valley, listening to live music in Cuba, Christmas markets in Prague, bathing in healing springs in Hakone outside Tokyo, viewing the Last Supper in Milan, watching the F1 racing from the pits in Monaco, modeling a million dollar wedding dress in Dubai, seeing Klimt’s Kiss In Vienna, visiting temples in Singapore, having a Renaissance tour in Florence, visiting the Primitive artists on Tory Island and being greeted by the King himself, Gaudi’s surreal architecture and public parks in Barcelona, the Hermitage in Russia, Irish dancing on tour in North Dakota, and camping in the desert in Oman with her cousins in freezing temperatures and being brought camel milk and dates for breakfast by local Bedouin people.

Katie is naturally artistic, and loves all the arts, and has been a volunteer working in the Ulster Museum, cataloguing and putting up exhibitions. She has spent time in all their departments including history and science, print, photography, fashion, taxidermy, geology, sculpture, glass, contemporary art, Irish and British painting, war memorabilia and archaeology. Other impressive gallery visits include the Getty Centre in LA, the Guggenheim in New York and the Pompidou Centre in Paris. As a model Katie has been the face of, among others, Easyjet, Diet Coke, 3Mobile, for Repbublic of Ire. House of Fraser, Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Tayto Crisps for ad campaigns and TV adverts. Katie launched the newly opened Agent Provocateur store in Belfast and has just been made the face of West Coast Cooler Belfast Fashion Week 2009.
